Bromyard RFC

34 - 34

(HT 0-0)

Claverdon RFC

Claverdon’s 1st XV travelled away to Bromyard on Saturday in a mid-table clash at the feet of the Malvern Hills.

Claverdon started strong, with evident dominance in open play, culminating in an early try for fullback, Hilton Garner-Jones. The rest of the first half was met with back and forth from Claverdon and Bromyard. Further tries from wingers James Gibney and Josh Evans took Claverdon into the lead at half-time.

Bromyard returned quickly each time Claverdon scored, causing a tense, unpredictable atmosphere. A breakaway try from Fly-Half, James Williams put Claverdon in the driving seat once again, followed by a powerful drive for the line by George Hazard. In the final play of the game, Bromyard, 5-points down whipped the ball wide and scored in the corner. At 34 all, Bromyard narrowly missed the conversion. Points shared for both teams, 34-34.
