Claverdon opened the first 15 minutes of the game with decent line breaks and carries from the likes of Callum Davies, however, despite being camped on the Harbury 5m, failed to convert any points. Harbury gained the ball within their 22m from a line-out, however were met with huge tackles from Jack Barwell and George Redwood, which left Claverdon with a kick to clear the lines. After a few exchanges of possession between the two teams, Harbury were 5m out with a strike move which ultimately was held up over the line by Robbie Fowler. Shortly after the restart, Harbury charged down a kick from Claverdon within their own 5m, and successfully dotted down the ball to open the scoring. With the kick missed, the score was 5-0. From the restart Calvin Lynch gathered the ball and proceeded to use his quick feet to step several Harbury defenders. Big carries from Alistair Norman and Chris Glover took Claverdon up into the opposition's 22m, where a penalty was awarded. Calvin Lynch successfully kicked for goal, score now 5-3.
There was more exchanging of possession after another restart, however, Harbury found themselves with a line-out on Claverdon’s 22m. Harbury made a mistake in their back’s move, and Harvey Skinner forced another error to win Claverdon the possession at the scrum. After some well-timed back’s moves, Claverdon were up into Harbury’s 5m on the hunt for their first try of the game. Unfortunately, a penalty was given in Harbury’s favour which allowed them to clear their lines. Harbury capitalized on this and after a few phases got the ball out wide to score in the corner. The kick was successful, the score now 12-3. The restart led to some phases of open play for both teams, however, Harbury were penalised just outside their 22m, from which Calvin Lynch went for points, however, was unsuccessful.
That concluded the first half, with the score being 12-3.
Unfortunately, Claverdon failed to start the second half like they did the first, and Harbury found themselves on the Claverdon 5m like with a line-out maul which they pushed over the line. With the conversion missed, the score was 17-3. Some good attacking rugby from Harbury kept Claverdon in their half for the next 10 minutes until a good line-break allowed them to run in a try under the posts. The conversion was successful, making the score 24-3. Claverdon restarted better than the two previous times, gaining good territory into the Harbury 5m, however, lost the ball just shy of the try line, allowing Harbury to clear. Harbury then gained a penalty on Claverdon’s 5m, which was taken quickly and scored. The conversion was successful which set the score 31-3.
This concluded the game, with the final score 31-3.
