History has been made at Claverdon Rugby Club
Liz Webster Kelsey is the first female president for the club
Long-serving Liz Webster Kelsey is the person to break the mould, having been involved with the club since 1996.
Liz said: “I am totally elated to have been named the first female president at Claverdon RFC” – it is an absolute privilege.
“My main aim is to ensure the club thrives and the amazing work of my predecessor Basil Sayer continue, they will be big shoes to fill, literarily! I hope the amazing VPs will be joining me in backing and supporting our first-team, second-team and occasionals.”
As well as the adult teams, Claverdon RFC also runs a successful youth setup and Liz is keen to attract more youngsters to the club.
“It’s not just the adult set-up, we have a really strong minis and youths section which is so beneficial for the club and we are hoping to attract more younger families to the club in the future,” the new Claverdon president explained.
“We’re beginning to see our mini’s and juniors section move closer to adult rugby with the club having a colts team this year, it’s exciting times on the pitch which we aim to match off the pitch in true Claverdon style.”
Please join the club in wishing Liz a long and fun filled tenure!.
